Frank Veronsky and The Dirty Urchins at Unique Photo!

This past weekend has definitely been an eventful one at Unique Photo with the arrival of Frank Veronsky's  highly-anticipated workshop, "The Professional Portrait", and the live musical performance with The Dirty Urchins shortly after!

Frank, an editorial and commercial photographer of over 20 years with clients like The Wall Street Jounral and People Magazine, instructed students on capturing great portraits in a wide variety of settings.  After the instructional portion of the workshop, the photo shoot with The Dirty Urchins began, allowing the students to put Frank's instruction and tips to practice along with the distributed Lensbaby lenses.

You may find some photos taken of the event by Unique University Head Instructor Michael Downey at the Unique Photo Flickr!  If you have photos of your own taken during the workshop, please feel free to share them with us at the Unique Photo Flickr Group -- we'd love to see them!

A Quick Word from Frank Veronsky...

Hey, this is Frank Veronsky, DPA Instructor from Belle Mead, N.J. We had a great time recently at my DPA workshop at Unique University, Unique Photo in Fairfield, N.J. where we talked about the professional music portrait. The Dirty Urchins came from NYC to be photographed in the studio and perform later for everyone in the Unique Coffee Shop.

Here is an image taken by one of the workshop students, Laura DeSantis-Olsson, of The Dirty Urchins' band member Bennett.

You see the basic lighting setup in the first "BEFORE" image. Pretty Basic.

After about 5 minutes with the help of Nik Software, we were able to create some great variations and a final that, well, says something special.
